We knew we were in trouble at the first meeting we had with PD, the first thing they ask you to choose is the facade for your new house. There are 10 to choose from, we chose the Urban, and were told, you will be pleased to know, that is the most expensive! Great, that didn't bode well for the rest of the conversation. S is super tall so we wanted to have extra tall ceilings, and therefore had to make some extra tall doors. We also wanted to extend the garage to fit in the fridge and other assorted things, which luckily fit on our block. We also will be keeping the extended Alfresco area, as our friends know we are not gardening people and are planning on decking as much as we can in the backyard.

We also wanted to make some external changes. We did not need a retreat in our bedroom (or to have to buy our 5th new couch) so we have extended the walk in robe in the master suite so the entrance aligns with the wall on the ensuite. We have also extended the shower in the ensuite so it is nice and big - the 33 shower is quite a bit smaller than the one in the 36.

We have also extended the pantry all the way so that the wall aligns with the edge of the kitchen. Giving us another whole side of benches. In the main bathroom, we have pushed the bath back into the void in the study, making that a totally square room.

We are building our new home with Porter Davis, the Illoura 33 +. We originally wanted to extend our townhouse where we are now, but after wrangling with the council for months we were looking at display homes for some ideas and fell in love with the Illoura, we bought land and signed our life away. Our land doesn't go to title until February and we have been booked in for an April site start. This seems so long away and we now can't wait to move in. We have made quite a few changes to the house, including extending the garage and the alfresco. We have decided that, as we plan on staying in this house for a long time, we are going to have everything we want and not scrimp. We know from experience it costs twice as much to put things in after you have moved in, so we are doing everything at once and getting it out of the way!
